Papercraft collectors rejoice! those of us here in the West seldom get direct access to high quality papercrafts from Japan without paying a ton for shipping and 3rd party costs (you usually have to go thru 3rd parties that will place a bid or buy it for you on Japanese online auction sites and retailers. This papercraft was first introduced at Wonder Festival 2010 Summer (Japan).
So it's really good to see this Jo-Jo's Bizarre Adventure Road Roller papercraft being offered at HLJ.com. This papercraft is an official release from MEDICOS ENTERTAINMENT Co. Ltd. (for traders and collectors that means in time, its value will appreciate ^^).
I'm not 100% sure, but I've been informed that the designer of this papercraft is Hiroshi Chiba of PAPERART-C.
A little background - this Road Roller papercraft is based on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga by Hirohiko Araki (adapted to anime, OVA, film, and video games). The Road Roller is part of Dio Brando's arsenal - he's a powerful vampire that can freeze time, throws a barrage of knives, and finishes his dying opponents by dropping this Road Roller, he often stays atop the Road Roller, leans back a bit and screams "WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY" (vampire shriek).
To give you a good idea of how big this Road Roller is, the pics below show the road roller papercraft with a 7 inch Dio Brando action figure.
HLJ.com (HobbyLinkJapan) is having an "Early Bird Special", if you pre-order this Road Roller papercraft by Oct. 28, 2010 you'll get 5% off the regular retail price. I've already searched other online retailers selling this papercraft and by far HLJ has the best/lowest price.
